Responsibility May Be Rebalanced
When authority is misused, responsibility may be rebalanced.
Under Ayaawx, authority is conditional. It exists only so long as responsibilities are upheld.
Rebalancing occurs when:
- A crest holder fails to meet duties of care, restraint, or accountability.
- Authority is exercised without consent or witness recognition.
- Harm is caused to people, land, or lawful process.
- Trust between the House and the authority carrier is broken.
Rebalancing responsibility does not erase the crest. It adjusts who may lawfully carry its authority.
Lawful rebalancing may include:
- Temporary restriction of decision-making power.
- Transfer of specific responsibilities to other House members.
- Increased witness oversight.
- Requirement of restoration before authority is resumed.
Rebalancing is corrective, not punitive.
Its purpose is to:
- Restore lawful order.
- Protect the integrity of the crest.
- Prevent further harm.
- Ensure responsibilities remain fulfilled.
Ayaawx principle: Authority follows responsibility, not status.
